A Special Spring Visit to Brooklyn Botanic Garden

SGSNY Beneficiaries and Staff

On Tuesday, May 20th, St. George’s Society of New York welcomed 17 Brooklyn-based senior beneficiaries for a relaxing and joyful afternoon at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

We started the day with a guided tour through the Shakespeare Garden and the Fragrance Garden. Guests enjoyed the peaceful setting and engaging stories shared by the garden’s volunteer tour guides. The Fragrance Garden was a favorite for our seniors because it offered them a unique tactile experience amongst a collection of mints and geraniums, to name a few.

After the tour, everyone gathered at the Yellow Magnolia Café for a delicious lunch and a chance to enjoy time together.

Each guest received a thoughtfully prepared gift bag—a meaningful way to end a memorable day.

We are grateful to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and their volunteer tour guides for generously donating their time and covering admission for our group. Their hospitality helped make this day possible.

The Beneficiary Program is our largest and longest-running service, giving hope and security to seniors of British or Commonwealth heritage—54 nations—in the Greater New York area.

Please donate to support our Beneficiaries today.
