St. George's Society of New York's community is a diverse group of individuals united by a common purpose: to help people in need.
Members are indispensable to the furtherance of St. George's Society of New York's 250-year legacy of giving and service. Members not only support our charitable mission but also have access to a variety of benefits including discount offers and exclusive event invitations.
Who can join?
Membership is open to anyone. While we enjoy celebrating our British roots, you don’t need a UK passport to join. All are welcome to support a good cause.
New members should be known by two current members of the Society who can serve as your Proposer and Seconder. If you have no prior connection to the Society, we invite you to join as a Friend.

We asked Josephine a few questions about her connections to SGSNY and what encouraged her to volunteer as a Board Member.
We are delighted to welcome four new members to SGSNY's Board of Directors. Udi Chattopadhyay, Hannah Gräfin von Waldersee, Dan Morris and Kay Nichols were elected to serve at the 252nd Annual General Meeting.
To help ease the isolation of the pandemic, SGSNY launched the Phone Pal initiative in April 2020, pairing volunteer callers with our senior beneficiaries. Volunteer Nichola Taylor reflects on her experience—one year later.
St. George’s Society Board member, Mark Aiston, was saddened when he had to cancel his 60th birthday celebrations because of social distancing measures in place during the pandemic. But then he “turned a disappointing situation into something hopeful” when he asked his friends and family to donate to St. George’s Society in lieu of gifts raising over $1200 for The Weatherstone Families Support Fund.
On 5 May—#GivingTuesdayNow—we celebrated the many people and partners that make our work possible. We shared words from our members and recognized the supporters who have championed our 250-year mission to help people in need in New York.
As a part of St. George’s Society’s efforts to expand enrichment and engagement opportunities for our scholars, we launched a mentoring initiative last year. Blend Associates Ltd. founder, Amanda Reynolds, shares her experience as a mentor to 2019 Scholar, Sheavonnie.
Jennifer joined the Society in 2013 and is a Corporate Member through her firm Laura Devine Law, where she serves as Partner.
Marc, originally from Wales, is a long-time member of the Society and currently serves on our Board of Directors. Support Marc as he takes on the 2018 Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K alongside legendary athlete Paula Radcliffe MBE on 3rd November!
St. George's Society and The Mountbatten Program have worked together since 2001. In that time, we have served as a host organization for over 15 Mountbatten Trainees, giving international young professionals the chance to gain full-time professional experience, study and live in New York City.
From Croydon, Kushal is a Corporate Member through his firm Laura Devine Law where he is an Associate Attorney.
Gareth is an Individual Member from Bangor, Wales. He currently serves as the Global Head USD Interest Rate Swaps at Societe Generale.
