Gareth Jones Joins the Advisory Council

We are delighted to announce that Gareth Jones has joined the St. George’s Society of New York Advisory Council.

Gareth Jones is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of FinTech Collective, a New York-based venture capital firm he co-founded in 2012 with his long-time business partner Brooks Gibbins.

FinTech Collective invests at the intersection of technology and financial services and was an early investor in eight companies now valued at more than $1 billion, including New York-based Moneylion, NYDIG, Octane, Octus, and Vestwell.

Before becoming an investor, Gareth spent 14 years as an entrepreneur and operator, helping build and sell three category-leading fintech companies. He began his career in London in 1999 at Multex, which went public and was later acquired by Reuters. He then helped lead Serverside, which Gemalto acquired, and co-founded GiftCardLab, which Blackhawk Network acquired. He moved to New York in 2004, after Reuters acquired Multex.

Born and raised in London, Gareth graduated from the University of the West of England and completed Columbia Business School’s Senior Executive Program. Before starting his career, he spent three and a half years double-handing a 36ft sailboat 33,000 nautical miles from the UK to the Antarctic Circle and back.

Gareth lives in Brooklyn with his wife, a ceramic artist, and their two daughters. Gareth was the 2018 recipient of the St. George's Society British Leadership Award, presented at the British Bash in recognition of his leadership and innovation within the British business community in New York.
