Coming Together for Our First Community 5K

Team SGSNY running at the Manhattan Midtown 5k

On Monday, September 14, members of St. George’s Society of New York laced up their trainers and took to Riverside Park for our very first SGSNY Community 5K in support of our charitable programs.

The team of seven runners joined around other 120 participants in the Manhattan Midtown 5K for a loop through Riverside Park, starting at West 81st Street. Together, David Martinelli, Steve Wilson, Faye Culpin, Stewart Casey, Caroline Kent, Kevin Jack Reeves and Charlotte Johannesen ran and fundraised to support New Yorkers who need it most.

The results?

The team fundraised their way to a brilliant total of $4,040, funds which will directly support SGSNY’s Scholarship and Beneficiary Programs over the coming year!

We are incredibly grateful to both our runners and everyone who supported our them by donating, sharing their fundraising pages and cheering them on. Every contribution helps us continue this work.

Raising the Trophy

While our team may not have taken home an award for running, we did leave with an impressive trophy for the Best T-Shirt Design, thanks to our creative race-day look. The win was a perfect addition to a day defined by plenty of energy, enthusiasm and community spirit.

We are so proud of our 2026 5K team and their commitment to going the extra mile for SGSNY. From fundraising through their personal networks to showing up on race day, their efforts will make a real difference to the people our programs support.
