Meet Rintu

Rintu is a 2016 recipient of the St. George's Society Scholarship and looks forward to graduating this June. Born and raised in Bangladesh, he migrated to America five years ago to pursue undergraduate education.

He is currently a senior in Accounting at Lehman College, and his goal is to qualify as a CPA and teach accounting.

Rintu has worked in restaurants and data entry jobs to pay bills, striving to improve the standard of living for his family. Sadly, Rintu's mother recently suffered a stroke and is now living with him so he can take care of her.

Rintu knows that to secure a stable future for his family, he needs to stay focused in school and achieve his career aspirations. Higher education has not always been an attainable dream, as his family's income is limited.

St. George's Society scholarship eases some of his financial burden, allowing Rintu to focus on his studies.

My lifetime goal is to improve myself and the standard of living for my family and community. With the assistance of St. George’s Society, Lehman College has helped me develop even higher goals than I ever could have imagined for myself.
