  1. How did you get involved with SGSNY?

When I first joined BAB in 2022, I quickly became aware of the longstanding relationship between SGSNY and BAB. Our organizations have worked together for many years, actively fostering initiatives to support our members through business intelligence sharing and networking opportunities. It’s been a pleasure to have had the opportunity to become more closely involved with SGSNY over the past four years.

  2. What’s your favorite part of being an SGSNY member?

One of my favorite parts of being an SGSNY member is the opportunity to meet new people and build lasting connections, both personally and professionally. At SGSNY’s events, you can always find members who are genuinely eager to support one another. The SGSNY community is warm and welcoming to anyone who is new (or “old”) to NYC!

  3. How has being part of SGSNY helped you as a newer New Yorker (personally and/or professionally)?

Professionally, understanding what matters to British businesses and individuals is essential to my work. As an American working for BAB, I am always looking to deepen my knowledge of British culture and community- attending events like SGSNY’s Pub Quiz, Pancake Day, etc. have provided me with a wider understanding of cultural holidays, and just how important it is for people to have a reminder of home. Personally, I look forward to attending SGSNY events, not only in my capacity as Senior Manager of Member Relations & Engagement at BAB but also as a young professional still navigating the complex NYC business landscape.

  4. What’s your favorite place in NYC? Favorite food or meal you’ve had since moving here?

For a taste of home: BAB Member Hawksmoor has a great Sunday Roast- and BAB Member Tea & Sympathy is a quintessential British spot in NYC for all your sausage roll needs! However, as a born-and-raised New Yorker, choosing a favorite spot in NYC is no easy task. One of the best things about NYC is that there is always something new and different to try! Recently, one of my favorite spots for a fancy cocktail and great view is Apotheke. I also must give Café Fiorello’s lasagna a shout out, great spot if you might be catching a show near Lincoln Center!
