April is Community FUNdraising Month!
April is a special month for St. George’s Society as we celebrate the feast of Saint George on the 23rd. This year, to mark the occasion, we have designated April “Community Fundraising Month”. From drink specials to office collection boxes, our community is taking action for #TeamSGSNY.
Wetherby-Pembridge School
The students of Wetherby-Pembridge School are setting out to prove that you’re never too small to make a difference. Through a series of engagement activities, students will learn about the importance of charity and how kindness isn’t determined by how old or young you are but by the contribution you have made. Students have pledged to wear red and fundraise for the Society.
The Churchill
Enjoy The Churchill’s “Gin for George” month with a portion of all gin sales throughout April donated to St. George’s Society. Look out for a number of special events hosted by our friends at Hendricks, Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, and Beefeater.
The Armory NYC Indoor Marathon Relay
#TeamSGSNY is once again taking on the Armory NYC Indoor Marathon Relay on 13th April. Our 8-person team will take turns to complete this fun 26.2-mile challenge on The Armory’s world-class 200-meter indoor track. We're still looking for a few more runners to share in the fun and help us raise vital funds for our charitable programs.
Rooney Nimmo
St. George’s Society member and expert Quizmaster, Charles Arrowsmith, will be taking his passion for our cause into his workplace. Rooney Nimmo has pledged to “Go Red” on Saint George’s Day by encouraging staff to wear red on 23rd April and donate to St. George’s Society.
Dog & Bone
Eat, drink and be merry with our friends at Dog & Bone. A portion of all ’99 ice cream sales will be donated to St. George’s Society.
TD Five Boro Bike Tour
Our team will take on this recreational cycling event with over 30,000 fellow cyclists to bike across a car-free New York City. Every dollar raised will support St. George’s mission to help people in need. We’re still looking to grow our team, so let us know if you would like to roll your way through NYC to help make a difference. All biking abilities are welcome!
Northern Star – THANK YOU!
We would like to extend a special thank you to member Ashley Lukas and Northern Star who got the ball rolling at their most recent Wine & Cheese Networking Night. They raffled off a lovely whiskey decanter set that raised $175 for the Society.
