A Great British Adventure

Did you know that Wall Street is Dutch, George Washington quoted Shakespeare and Winston Churchill became an American in 1963? We learned this and more at the Great British Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, 5th August in Lower Manhattan.

Starting at the Queen Elizabeth II September 11th Garden, participants used their wits, resourcefulness and some impressive dance moves to unlock clues and earn points. Teams traveled to the site of the Society’s founding at Fraunces Tavern, ran from the Charging Bull and created optical illusions in the Oculus.

After two hours of exploring downtown Manhattan, teams made their way to the Barleycorn where we awarded prizes to the winners. Team “Pinkies Up” took home the gold and gift bags sponsored by Links of London.

We would like to thank our friends at Wildgoose who made the entire day possible—generously donating their time, expertise and technology for this fun and interactive challenge.
