Are You a Pirate or a Lost Boy?
In this outrageously queer, adults-only British-style Panto, NYC Panto reimagines Peter Pan with a Frank-N-Furter-esque Captain Hook, a foul-mouthed Tinker Bell, drag queen Lady Chicken Cutlets, and a Neverland where growing up is optional and absolutely nothing is safe from satire.
Hosted by SGSNY member Rob Benson and featuring fellow SGSNY members, this wildly irreverent theatrical romp is fueled by pop parodies, audience participation, slapstick mayhem, and brand-new original music where fairy tales, politics, and the zeitgeist collide.
Bold and bawdy, pantomime, or Panto, has been a holiday tradition in Great Britain since 1717. With roots in Commedia dell'arte, the genre takes classic fairy tales and gives them a broad and comedic twist. While pantos are traditionally considered family-friendly entertainment, Peter Panto is strictly for grown-ups.
Because sometimes the best way to make sense of the world is to laugh at it.
The world's on fire. Come laugh with us anyway.
