In 2008, St. George’s Society established a Scholarship Program to help low-income, final-year students complete their education and launch their careers. Since its inception, the Program has awarded almost $1 million to deserving individuals.

We currently serve students at Lehman and Hunter Colleges—part of the City University of New York—with the goal of expanding to CUNY institutions across all five boroughs of New York.

We hope to foster this expansion through the Pathways Corporate Partners Program.

Only about half of the students who start college in the US will earn a degree.
The rest—mostly low-income, first-generation and minority students—will not graduate.

College costs have risen more than 200% in the last 20 years.
Most students who drop out do so due to an unmet financial need with little to no family support.

Low-income students face unique challenges.
These students are often responsible for supporting their families and despite their best efforts, balancing school and work is a major challenge.

Higher education serves as an engine of social mobility and economic growth. Research shows that when financial barriers are removed for high-achieving, low-income students, they succeed at the same or higher rates than their peers.

Pathways will allow your company to take an active part in closing the education gap and ensuring the success and future of tomorrow’s leaders.
