CHARITABLE WORK

St. George's Society of New York is a charitable organization founded in 1770 by English settlers for the purpose of offering “advice and relief” to fellow Englishmen in need or distress. Its mission is to assist elderly or disabled residents in the New York area of British and Commonwealth heritage.

We also provide financial assistance to deserving students from Commonwealth countries through our scholarship program. In addition to providing financial relief, St. George’s offers other forms of compassion, such as providing a resting place for British War Veterans and others and referring beneficiaries to St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital.
